I grew up in the Portland area and went to college at Pacific Lutheran University, where I met my husband, Tuan. I can't say I'm much of a cook, but thankfully, he is! So the recipes you'll find in this blog are pretty much attributed to him, unless otherwise noted. But I digress. From college, I went to Oregon Health & Science University for dental school. I got bit by the travel bug, so I joined the Army and practiced as a general dentist for four years in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Yeah, I pretty much hit the jackpot. It was as good as it sounds. My husband and I visited 30 countries before we were 30 years old, and we made amazing friends in the military. But alas, when my commitment was over, it was time to figure out what to do next. I worked with some great periodontists while in the Army, and I found that I really enjoyed surgery, so I decided to persue a specialty in periodontics, which landed me back in Oregon once again. We moved out to the country, just outside of Portland, where we now have 3 young children, 4 dogs, and a small farm.
